Board Certified Music Therapist
Personal Counseling Service, Inc. - Clarksville, Indiana

Description: 
We are seeking a passionate, Board-Certified Music Therapist to join our growing team! A part-time caseload is available immediately, with potential to grow to full time. Populations served on this caseload are adults and children with various intellectual/developmental disabilities (age 5-adult). Further populations may become available as caseload increases. Travel is required, with clients located in Crawford, Harrison, Floyd, and Clark counties.
 
Details:
  • Location: Services are provided in client’s homes, community-based facilities, and our Clarksville clinic
·        Caseload: 10 to 20+ direct contact hours (Number of sessions is negotiable)

Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group services and maintain hours as contracted
  • Maintain clinical records in accordance with professional and Agency guidelines; including assessment, treatment planning, documentation and report writing
  • Work cooperatively with staff, colleagues, consultants, and referring professionals
  • Actively participate in bi-monthly clinical staff meetings and case consultations
  • Perform administrative and development tasks as assigned
 
Position Requirements:
  • Board Certified Music Therapist 
  • Experience preferred, but not required
  • CPR/First-Aid certification
  • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation

Corrections based Therapist– Full time in Floyd County Jail     
Reports to: Clinical Director

Description:       
            The Corrections Based Therapist provides individual, group, and possibly family therapy to residents incarcerated in the Floyd County Jail. Participates as a clinical staff team member, participates in staffing and clinical team meetings as appropriate, performs necessary administrative tasks, and helps market the Agency’s services. The Corrections Based Therapist maintains an attitude/manner consistent with the mission statement of the Agency. 
            This position is awarded on a 6-month contract. It may be renewed for additional time dependent upon evaluation and mental health discipline needs for licensure.

Expectations:
Counseling
  • Provide therapeutic services for adults incarcerated in the Floyd County Jail:  assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis management, group therapy, individual therapy, alcohol drug abuse recovery, and casework management
  • Represent the standards and practices of counseling in accordance with the Agency’s mission statement
  • Maintain clinical records in accordance with professional and Agency guidelines, under the direction of the Floyd County Jail Supervising LCSW, Ms. Michelle Cochran, and PCS’ Clinical Director
  • Work with the administrative staff/supervisor at Floyd County Jail, and Personal Counseling Services.
Supervision
  • Obtain an appropriate supervisor and receive necessary supervision hours required by discipline if necessary
  • Follow State statute requirements of applicable discipline
  • Become licensed within 30 months of initial date of employment if unlicensed
Clinical Staff Participation
  • Work cooperatively with staff colleagues, consultants and referring professionals
  • Actively participate in clinical staff meetings and case consultations as appropriate
  • Attend administrative staff meetings, staff retreats, certification/licensure reviews and team building activities as appropriate
Agency Administration and Development
  • Participate in the development of the Agency’s community relations and referral network
  • Attend all required meetings at the Floyd County Correctional Facilities
  • Perform administrative and development tasks as assigned
  • Participate in and support Agency fundraising functions and public relations initiatives
 
Experience and qualifications: 
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or equivalent from an accredited college or university
  • Clinical training and experience appropriate to the requirements of the position, with education and  experience related to corrections, and addictions
  • Male preferred to develop services for male residents at Floyd County Jail
  • Pursue relevant licensure in the State of Indiana if unlicensed
  • Personal liability insurance
